What is Twinmotion?

- [Instructor] So what is Twinmotion? Well, over the next several videos, we're going to talk about some of the conceptual aspects of working with Twinmotion, as well as some of the practicals. So Twinmotion is an easy to use software that allows you to create lifelike visualizations. It has a simple and intuitive interface that makes it easy to learn and easy to use. So whether you're creating a house or a city block, or maybe you've never even used visualization software before, you can easily add realistic materials, vegetation, realistic lighting, and you can drag and drop thousands of free assets. So what are the main features of Twinmotion? Well, it's simple to learn and to use. You don't need to become an expert at Twinmotion to use it. It's got a somewhat intuitive interface that allows you to drag and drop all of your assets. It has sliders that allow you to change things be it the weather or the seasons. It uses real-time rendering. Twinmotion uses realistic physically based lighting and shadowing and includes hundreds of materials that can realistically react to whatever's happening in your scene. Twinmotion does not require long rendering times. You can easily view and edit your scene in real time with the same high quality as a final render. It has many ways of outputting. One thing I love about Twinmotion is the ability to create one source and then create a whole spectrum of outputs. You can output things like images, panoramas, video and shareable presentations that you can then email to clients and they don't take an hour to download. All of these things come from the same file and use that same simple interface. And one feature I've grown to love is the simple exporting to VR. I can be adding materials to a house design one minute and then see what that material might look like in VR the next minute. Twinmotion uses lots of different platforms. You can use Twinmotion with Windows or with Mac, and it works with all sorts of BIM software and offers a one-click sync with Archicad, Revit, SketchUp Pro, RIKCAD and Rhino, including Grasshopper. You can also import assets that you find online as FBX or OBJ files, and you can bring your scene to life with smart assets. You see the assets that Twinmotion supplies are not just simple objects. They can react to weather. You have access to realistic trees and grass and shrubs. Twinmotion also includes sounds and characters with realistic animation. Now that we've talked about what Twinmotion is good at, let's talk about who it's meant for.
