What you need to know

- [Narrator] The topic of scale model building can apply to many areas of interest, including trains, topographic sites, machines, and product prototypes. This course will mainly focus on architectural concepts of model building, although the lessons learned here could apply to many different model building types. We'll go through the process of how to prepare a digital file of a building for the physical fabrication of a scale model version. I'll provide you with some real-world photographs of the assembly techniques as they apply to our digital model, but we're not going to go over a step-by-step assembly process of the physical model. We'll use Rhino as our digital modeling software, so having a strong understanding of that program or similar ones is highly recommended. If you've never used this program before, I suggest reviewing a Rhino introduction course on LinkedIn Learning before beginning this course. So if you're in a design firm looking to expand your capabilities, a student starting out in architecture, or a hobbyist interested in developing more technical skills, please stick around and we'll build something amazing together.
