Working with modeling constraints

- We've already had a chance to explore some of the snapping tools in Rhino 5 for Mac, which are really handy for accurate modeling, but snapping tools have a little bit of downside in that they're limited to dealing only with parts of existing geometry, so the endpoints of an existing line or the center of an existing circle, for instance. But many times in Rhino, we want to constrain the placement of a point based on something that's a little bit more abstract. Maybe it's just a distance or just an angle, or maybe it's an implied relationship between existing objects in our file. So, for example, maybe it's the intersection point of two lines if we were to extend them out into space beyond their endpoints. So that's where constraints come in, and constraints are kind of like the cousins of the snapping tools, and they're just as important for taking full advantage of Rhino. We'll mostly be looking at these three constraint tools, Ortho, Planar, and SmartTrack, as well as some…
