Running a finishing pass

- The secondary pass in a conventional 3-Axis operation is known as a finish pass. Unless you're working with foam or a similarly lightweight stock, you should always run a rough pass first to remove the majority of the extra material from your work piece. So we've gotten a lot of the hard work done by executing a rough pass, that's right here, Horizontal RF. So let's start another Machining Operation set, and we'll call this one "PF" for parallel finishing. So I'll select that option, and we'll select the exact same Machining Regions than we did for our horizontal finishing. And that's this interior line and this exterior line. Of course, we already have our bridges and our plane in place, so I'll right click. Now for the Tool, because of the different nature of approach with the finish pass, in this case we want a Ball Mill, or a mill that has a spherical end instead of a flat end.
