So let's take a look at the shape that I've got right here, it's a little more complicated than normal. It's fully 3D so it has details on both the top and bottom and all the way around the sides. So this needs to be handled a little bit differently than our two and a half axis tool paths. This will be known as a three axis tool path. And it's actually multiple operations, or multiple tool paths, to get that final 3D result. So one of the complications with this particular item, is that most machines that you'll be working from are only capable of cutting from the top down. So as I approach the top of this model with the bit, I'll be able to slide over the sides, but anything beyond this plain, I'll only be able to cut straight down like that. So we can solve that by making a flip jig and flipping this part, so the tool path will actually be broken into four parts.
