- Let's start with an introduction to SAP Ariba system in general, but also Ariba Discovery, what is it and what it's place within SAP Ariba and what means buying on Ariba Discovery. An overview of SAP Ariba. Ariba was a standalone product, a web platform, a B2B online marketplace, a business network that has been acquired by SAP in 2012. It now has more than 4 million suppliers registered on the platform. These suppliers are serving over 190 countries and annually, there are $3.2 trillion that are exchanged through the B2B Marketplace Ariba. There are 20,000 product and service categories listed on the platform. So you can search for 20,000 different product and services, and the platform support 24 languages.
