- [Instructor] Creating complex 3D sketches is an essential skill for passing the exam. Now, the best thing to do when you're creating 3D sketches is generally, start with a couple of 2D sketches first, and then use the 3D elements to connect the dots. Here's a prime example here. I've got a rectangular shape, and I might want to make more of a rectangular box, so what I can do is take a feature here. Make a Reference Geometry Plane. I already have a top plane here, which I drew this on. I'm going to go ahead and just bump that plane up above there. Click on "OK." You can always reference the existing sketch, so you might want to start a sketch here. Start a sketch. Choose this original sketch here, and then convert entities. That's a really handy way to easily recreate that geometry, and that way, if the bottom sketch changes, the top sketch will automatically update. Go ahead and exit out of the sketch when you're done, or if you want to, we can continue creating geometry. So, over…
