- [Instructor] A neat tool to check out that's in the mesh modeling toolbar is the 3D texture tool. We can use this tool to apply a texture to any surface body, but we have to convert that body over to a mesh body prior to doing so, but actually when you create a 3D texture it automatically does that for us, so let me actually show you how it works. The first thing I need to do, so this becomes un-grayed out, is I need to apply a decal. Right, this tool uses the black and white from a decal to determine what the texture is or what the bump map is. So to do that, let's go over here under the beach ball, under appearances, now notice down under here under miscellaneous there's a thing called 3D textures, and you get a whole bunch of different ones, and if you just kind of scroll through here, all the different cool textures you have that are available to you, and you can of course add in new ones as needed.
