- [Instructor] Creating dimensions inside of your SolidWorks drawings is what's going to define the actual size of those parts. And what makes SolidWorks very powerful as a design tool. Unlike a lot of other like, low cost design options, like maybe SketchUp, something that is it's kind of based around hard dimensions, right? When you make something three inches or five inches, it's defining the real shape of it in real life. It's not just making it look, right. A lot of surface space modelers, like, people who do like cartoons and things like that, they don't really care the full size, they're just creating a shape that they can make bigger and smaller and just stretched it free will. But in SolidWorks for most time making things they're going to be made in the real world. And that's where those dimensions really come into play.
