Add the second half using mirroring
- [Instructor] This was how we previously left our controller model. So hopefully at this stage, you can see half of the controller shape. What we're going to do next is mirror this half over to the other side, and it's a very simple process, it's just one single feature. When you're modeling in SolidWorks, it always pays to spend a few minutes thinking about how you're going to model something before you model it, 'cause often you can save time. For example, in this case, because the item's symmetrical, we only need to model one half of it. To make the mirror, go to the Features tab and select Mirror, which is here, and we've got a few different options on the left. Often, you'll probably use Features to Mirror, which is this one, and as the name suggests, this allows you to choose specific features that you want to mirror.
