Adding annotations - SOLIDWORKS Tutorial

Adding annotations
- When you're working with your drawing, there's a lot of different annotations that we might want to add to the drawing, and I want to cover all of those in the toolbar up here called Annotations. Now the very first item there is your Smart Dimension tool, and we've used that quite a bit already, but I'm going to click on the dropdown, and you can see we also have a bunch of other types of dimensions that we can add like specifically horizontal or vertical. We can use a baseline or ordinate dimension. So a bunch of different dimensions you can add there, and they all pretty much work exactly the same as a smart dimension tool. You can also bring in model items. So if you bring in the dimensions from the sketches that you originally created, sometimes it'll come in a little bit cleaner than just bringing or doing an auto-dimension tool. So I can just click on that and then select which of the dimensions, annotations, and reference geometry that I'd like to import into this drawing…
