Applying draft
- [Instructor] Draft is generally applied to a part when it needs to be ejected from some type of a mold. You need to have some type of a taper to the parts so it's easy to eject from that mold. So, the easy way to add draft to your parts is using the draft tool right here. So under features, come under here to draft. Click on that one there. And my first option here is the angle I'd like to establish the draft at. Now if you're using, or making a plastic part, generally it needs to be about three degrees. Now you can go below that for some of the faces. But generally the more draft you have, the better. So in this case here, let's say three degrees. And as far as the neutral plane, which is this one here, I'm going to choose this top surface here. And that's going to define not only the direction of pull, but where we're going to be starting that draft from.
