- [Instructor] The American Society of Mechanical Engineers geometric dimensioning and tolerancing standard includes a collection of 14 different symbols that can be used in feature control frames to indicate geometric constraints. These symbols fall into five categories related to the type of geometry they constrain. Those categories are form, profile, orientation, location, and runout.
