Basic assembly techniques
- [Instructor] The tools we use for assembling sheet metal parts are the same tools we use for any type of SolidWorks assembly. However, there are a few tricks that I can show you, and we're gonna go into that right now. So the first thing we want to point out is we've got this circuit board here with a few components on it, and I have a sheet metal part right over here, with it mated at the origin. So right over here, you can see, here's the origin, right in the center of the part. And if you look at this part itself, you can see here, I have the front plane right in the center of the part. I have the top plane at the bottom, and I have this right plane. So we're gonna pretty much use those planes to mate the board to the assembly. Alright, now over here on the board itself, you can look at that assembly, same thing. I've got a front plane, I've got a top plane, and I've got a right plane. And notice, it's right in the center of the board, so we can easily use those planes to mate…
