Basic sketch entities review

- [Instructor] To begin this course, I want to run through some of the basics of sketching just one more time so we're all on the same page moving forward. So we start a sketch, pick our plane. We can use one of the shortcuts that automatically pop up on the flyout toolbar like this one and create a new sketch. We have line entities, circles, splines, rectangles, arcs, ellipses, and various other geometric line types, slots, hexes, and other polygons, fillets, chamfers, points, our text, and then what we use to manipulate those who are various features over here are trim and extend entities, convert entities, offsets, mirrors, patterns, et cetera. So we've used all of these in the previous course on sketching. So we can just go in, create a sketch. We know how those auto relations work, make a close contour. We have shaded sketch contour on. We can toggle that on and off if you add the option here like I did for quick toggling. Otherwise, you're going to go to tools, sketch settings, and you'll see right here, shaded sketch contours just as a reminder. But again, all of this is covered in the Solidworks sketching course. I just want to run through the toolbar that we're looking at for the most part, and also the dropdowns which you can find here in sketch entities, sketch tools, sketch settings, blocks, spline tools, dimensions, and relations.
