- [Instructor] If you need to do a boring operation in HSM, it's pretty straightforward and easy. The hardest thing is actually selecting the right type of tool. Now, in this case here, I've added this big hole to the center of my part and I need to bore that hole. I would do a fine boring operation here. So I've got a boring head, like, a Criterion boring head I want to run to clean up that hole and make sure it's really clean. Now, before I do that, though, I need to actually rough out that hole. So because it's about two inch in diameter, more than likely I need to use, like, an end mill and, like, pocket hat hole out to get most of that material out of there. And as we jump into the pocketing routines as we go through this course, you'll learn how to do that, but I'm assuming right now that I already have a big hole in the center of my part, not exactly two inches, but maybe a little bit smaller than that, so I do have some cleanup work to do with my boring head.
