- Prior to starting the certification exam, I want to set up a template inside of SolidWorks that has the right units and materials, so that when I go ahead and start the exam, I already have a pre-defined template that has everything I need, so I can get started and start making parts. It's going to save us a lot of time, and it's pretty quick to do. First thing's first, let's go ahead and click on Open New Document. Now, wherever or whatever templates you already have set up, we can start from them. I happen to have a few here, and they're going to be included in the Exercise Files for this course. Now I'm going to choose this one called 1020, and click on Open. Now, most of the parts inside of the exam are going to use the millimeters system for one, and two, they're going to use either 1020 Steel or 1060 Aluminum. Now, those things can change if they change the exam, but I want to make sure that we start with a few of these things already as templates so that, if we see a part…
