Choosing the correct projection angle

- When creating drawings of parts inside of SOLIDWORKS, we want to make sure that we're choosing the correct projection angle. Now in the United States, most of the time we use what's called third-angle projection, and the rest of the world pretty much uses what's called first-angle projection, so it's a little bit different. So I want to point out what the difference is. Now let's open up this part right here by clicking here and clicking on an open part. And you can see here I've got this little hexagon on one side of the part, which is on the right-hand side of the part. Here's the front of the part. And then at the very top of this, I've got this little triangle. All right, so now when we go ahead and make our drawing, we want to keep this part in mind. Let's go back to Sheet1, and now you can see here this is what's called a third-angle projection, so I've got this front view here.
