Create the flywheel bracket

- [Instructor] Now that we've created the flywheel, we need some kind of way of holding it in place so that it's fixed to the base, but it can still spin freely and to do this, we're going to create a simple bracket that will hold the flywheel. Open a new SOLIDWORKS part and let's start a sketch on the front plane. The bracket is basically going to be U shaped so there'll be two vertical arms, one on each side of the flywheel and because the bracket is symmetrical we can just draw half of it and then we can mirror our sketch. So firstly, let's draw a vertical center line 10 millimeters high starting at the origin. To set the height, I'm just going to use the mouse gestures. So the mouse gestures are a simple way to access loads of commands when you're sketching and when you're using other features in SOLIDWORKS.
