Create a hole pattern block

- [Instructor] So now we're going to learn how to use hole patterns and add hole patterns to your design library so you can reuse them. I use this a lot because I do a lot of circuit boards with connectors and other passive components that have hole patterns that I want to be able to reuse and place from one board to another board. So we're going to start with the chapter seven Begin exercise and we're going to insert a DXF file, make sure the units are in millimeters so that it's to scale properly. Then we're going to create a block and name the block and save the block to the library. This is really a great way to do it because most passive component vendors provide you with free DXF files for the hole patterns of their components so you just download the DXF file from the vendor and then use it inside of SOLIDWORKS. It makes it a lot easier than having to redo the DXF from scratch. We're going to add the hole pattern block to the design library and then we're going to drag and drop…
