Create the initial controller shape
- [Instructor] As mentioned in the introduction to this course, we will be creating a game controller that looks something like this. This is the finished assembly. Like most assemblies in SolidWorks, this is broken down into a number of smaller parts. So we've got the two halves of the main controller, we've got these two joysticks, and then we've got a number of buttons, and inside we've also got a PCB, or printed circuit board. The first part that we'll be making is this main controller shape. We'll actually make this as one single part, and then later on, we'll split it up into two halves. In this first video, we'll just be making the center section, so it's quite a simple video. Let's go ahead and open up SolidWorks and start a new part by clicking here on New, and selecting Part. Then start to sketch on the top plane, and from the Sketch tab, let's choose the Center Rectangle tool. Draw a Center Rectangle,…
