Creating blocks
- In this movie, we're going to go ahead and create our own block and then reuse that block to cut a bunch of holes in a different part. Now, you can see this sketch here has got a lot of different dimensions a lot of different entitites, and it has a lot of different relationships all in there. I don't want to have to continue to create that, over and over again, every time I want to use this hole pattern on one of my designs. The best thing for me to do is to create a block of that, save it out to my file system, and then I can reuse it and bring it in to any other sketch or any other part that I want to. To get started, I already have the Block Toolbar turned on. For some reason, if you don't have it, right-click anywhere in the gray area, come down to Blocks, and turn it on. Select around all the objects or all the sketch entities that you would like to bring into your block. Highlight them all, and then come over here and click on Make Block.
