- [Man] Hey guys, let's talk about patterns. Now patterns are a very useful tool inside of SolidWorks, especially if you're making some type of a grid or bunch of holes in your park. There's a lot of uses for patterns. Now keep in mind though, if we're creating patterns, it's creating a lot of geometry very quickly in which you can slow down your computer. So I generally recommend if you're going to make patterns, save them towards the end of your park. But to get started, let's head up here, under the feature tools, come over here to linear pattern, click on that one right there, choose a direction, right? I want to choose a direction, I'm going to choose an edge or a face, I can choose a face like this one right here. And I can switch the direction so it's going that way. And then of course I have to choose what I'd like to pattern, right? So I can choose features or faces, I'm going to choose a feature to pattern…
