Creating the roof frame
- To create the roof truss, I'm gonna go ahead and start a new part which I called 2.1.SLDPRT. And I'm gonna start a sketch on the front plane. Now I'm gonna use a center line here to define the height of the roof. And then I'm gonna use a regular line to define the slope on either side. And then we're gonna connect things together here by making a line from here, over here to there. And notice you don't have to make it horizontal at first. You can always go ahead and add that in later. You can always go ahead and click on the center point here mid point here and say, make a Midpoint. I can make this line here and that line there equal. And it completes like that. So now I define things, everything looks pretty good. So first things first, let's add some dimensions. I know I want six feet here so I type in 6' That defines the shape. The width of the roof is gonna be 24 feet. Now I could define this stuff in context as well, inside of the assembly but right now I'm just gonna lay it…
