Creating swept shapes
- [Instructor] The sweep tool is similar to maybe like a loft but instead of two profiles it's taking one individual profile and its guide path is going to drag that profile through. You can think of like a tube or a piece of wire or something like that and its always got the same cross sectional area. So it's going to be the same shape and then we're just going to define where that shape goes to. So in my example here it's going to be a clothes hanger so it's got a piece of wire and we're going to be taking that circular shape and dragging that shape through the final profile. So to do that we have a couple different ways and I'll show you them but right now I'm going to go up here to swept boss or base. And notice I have this thing called sketch profile and then down here is the paths. And notice this little icon here shows kind of like the length of the path and over here is the actual profile.
