Custom Assembly Templates
- [Instructor] Creating an assembly template inside of SOLIDWORKS is almost identical to creating a part template inside of SOLIDWORKS. The only thing additional that you can do with an assembly template is do things like insert a component into it ahead of time so that it's ready there in case you're doing some kind of custom template. For example when I worked at a shipyard, we would have a hull template and have a hull inside of an assembly template and open it up from there. The thing that I want to focus on here is making sure that the location that you save this template is correct. If you're working with multiple people and sharing your templates for example, this is going to be really important. Also if you don't save the template in the right location, you're not going to be able to pull it up afterwards. You could always make more changes and tweak them overtime, as you find what works best for your templates.…
