Database update

- [Instructor] If we are opening the SOLIDWORKS Electrical software for the very first time, we might run into this data update window. So what this window is doing, it's essentially a wizard that's going to allow us to add all existing prebuilt data to our database. So I can start by just clicking on the next button. And this is going to give me an overview of all of the prebuilt files for our SOLIDWORKS Electrical software. So for example, I can see I have four project templates that have already been built for me, over 2,000 symbols, close to 100 footprints, and so on. And I can keep clicking through next here, and go through each of these one-by-one. So for example, with SOLIDWORKS Electrical, the base package comes with four prebuilt project templates. So for example, ANSI, IEC, and so forth. And I can just go through each and every one of these and take a look at what I'm adding to my existing database. Here are those 2,000 different symbols I have. And I can take a look at some of these as well. And since again, this is a new database, completely new install, it's going to show me any new objects and existing objects in my database. So this symbol, for example, is a PLC, or it looks like something like that. And just a whole number of different PLCs just here. So I'm adding these 2,000 prebuilt symbols to my library. I can keep jumping through here. I have a bunch of footprint symbols. So for example, a pushbutton. And these are all, again, built for me so I don't have to build these all one-by-one on my own. So I'll just jump through each of these. And this is essentially what comes in the prebuilt package but we'll also see later on, in addition to these 2,000 or so symbols that I'm adding, I can also download and install millions of other symbols available online. So I can just jump through each of these, looking as I may need. And then jump to the final step and hit off Finish. And it might take a few minutes to update but essentially what it's doing is adding each and every one of those project templates, symbols, footprints, and so on, to my existing electrical database.
