Designing with blocks
- [Narrator] In this example, I'm going to show you how you can use Blocks to figure out mechanisms in your Sketch. In this example, I'm going to be showing you how to use Blocks to design mechanisms, all within a SolidWorks Sketch. To get stated, let's go ahead and create a couple Blocks from the Sketch entities that we already have. Now, whenever you're making a Block, you want to attach all the lines together. They're going to operate as one unit. Let me show you what that means. So, the first thing's first, let's go over here and select these lines up here in the front that kind of create that fork. And let's go ahead and create a Block from that. So, make a Block there. Go ahead and click on the green check mark, and now we have a Block. Notice these lines change from blue to gray. That means that that whole unit in the front there is its own little Block, and it can operate independent of the other lines. Let's do the exact same thing here by holding down control.
