- [Instructor] The split command allows us to create a more complicated shape as one single body. And then split that body up into multiple parts. You can do this to create more complicated shapes all in one, or you might want to work on individual pieces of a design as separate parts and then maybe later combine them back together. Couple different options of what you can use. So let me show you how split works. All we really need is some sketch or some shape to split our part in half. So in this case here I'm going to go up here to split under direct editing. And it's going to ask me for template because I'm going to be creating multiple parts now. I'm going to use this LyndaPart template, click OK. And same thing with my assembly. Go ahead and create an assembly. And my trim tool. Now this can be a surface or a sketch, a whole bunch of things I can use. I'm going to choose this sketch right here as my trim tool and then I'm going to say hey, I would like that to cut this part in…
