Don't use configurations—use mates that can be edited
- [Instructor] When you're planning on how you're gonna move your model, remember you have two different methods, really. You have mates and you have the drag method. Do not ever try and use configurations. They don't work very well when setting up your animation. And then figure out what types of mates you need to create your motions. Distance, angle, path and using an exploded view is also a really great option if you're showing how parts come together and get taken apart. And, you saw, in some of the videos, I had to mess around with the views, some of the mates, to change, to flip the dimension direction or adjust my distance. Don't be afraid to just kinda tweak things and experiment and see what's gonna work best for your animation.
