Downloading premade parts from the Internet
- One of the easiest ways to get parts for your assemblies, is to download them from the internet. A lot of companies these days are providing 3D CAD files in multiple different formats. And you can just go ahead and choose them and download them. There are several great resources for this. The first one is 3DContentCentral. Now this is run by SOLIDWORKS or Dassault Systems. And you can see, there's a bunch of different companies who have uploaded their files to this site. So you can just download them and directly use them inside of your designs. Click on any one of these, I'll just click on this one here. You can see I've got bearings and bolts and fasteners and motors and pneumatics, all kinds of things I can download from this company here and bring it in to my design. You can download not only individual parts, but you can also download entire assemblies that are very, very complicated, which would take you an exceptionally long time to design on your own.
