Ellipse, Parabola, and Conic

- [Narrator] When working in 2D sketches, you don't want to limit yourself to lines, rectangles and the other basic shapes and entities that are here up in the command ribbon. If we start a new sketch, I'm going to go to the sketch entities and you see here listed we have ellipse, partial ellipse, parabola and conic. So as opposed to these shapes which are just our typical geometric shapes, we got ones that are a little bit more complex, you can call them almost equation driven, style shapes. Let's run through how to make each of these real quickly, they're pretty easy. I'm going to start with ellipse. You basically select your starting point, drag out one direction and then you drag out the other direction to make your ellipse. So basically, in this case I'm doing the height of my ellipse and then the width. Click OK and then we get the four points around the ellipse. Now if I want to orient this for example, I can select these three points here and then make them vertical. I can…
