- [Instructor] Throughout this course, we talk about using internal and external references. But in this video, I wanna just kind of come full circle and explain external references in a more complete way, so we know exactly what's going on. Now the most explicit external references that we work with are when we create new geometry inside of an assembly and use existing geometry to make references, sketch relations, things like that. So in this example, we're gonna try to make a box for this bike. So in my other window, I've created a rough box. This is just a four by four by 10 rough profile for a box. So I'm gonna go back into that assembly, I'm going to insert that component into it. I'm gonna move it around and position it a little bit. We can see, if we were gonna send this out and create this box, it's not quite the right size. So we're gonna wanna make it a little bit bigger.
