- [Instructor] This video provides an overview of Frequency Response analysis results and how to interpret them. The Frequency Response output in SOLIDWORKS consists of two components. The first is the Magnitude and this is an absolute value. It's available in both contour plots and response graphs. The second output quantity is the Phase and this is only available in graphs. It's not available as a contour plot. Now if you look at Frequency Response results, both Magnitude and Phase are needed to fully define the response at any highlighted node. The node in the corner here, indicated with the arrow, has been plotted and we have two Frequency Response graphs. The top one is the Magnitude and the bottom one is the Phase. Now, as the response passes through each resonant frequency, there is a potential phase change. We can see quite a few phase changes in here, from 0 to 180 and 180 back to 0.
