Gear mate

- [Instructor] Now that we have our gears made it to the mounting plate, we're going to use the gear mate to mate the three gears to one another so they can rotate in unison. The first thing we want to do is ensure that the teeth are properly positioned between the mating gears. This helps in creating a realistic motion when the gears rotate. We want to make sure that the teeth are not overlapping. And they appear to be good between gears one and two. And they're also good between gears one and three. To create our gear mate, we're going to go to the assembly tab of the command manager and click on the mate icon. We'll go down and expand out the mechanical mates tab and select gear. For our mate selection, we'll select the bore surfaces for gears one and two. We now must enter in the gears ratio. For spur gears, this is simply the pitch diameter for the two gears that you're attempting to mate to one another. For this…
