General settings adjustment

- [Instructor] When looking to increase performance in Solidworks, it's always a good idea to go and adjust your systems options. Let's go ahead and take a look at those options and what we can do to increase our performance. Up here you can select the small gear for the options and we begin in the systems options tab. If we had a document open, we would also have document properties. And we're going to start in the general settings. Now looking down this list, there are a lot of options here, but the ones that I want to highlight are: enabling the freeze bar. By using the freeze bar, you can drag it down in the feature tree and lock in features so that it doesn't keep rebuilding every time you hit the rebuild function. You'll also want to turn off show thumbnail graphics in Windows Explorer. While it's nice to see the graphic, this does slow down Solidworks. When there's a rebuild error that occurs, you'll want to have the prompt selection turned on. Also down here below, every time…
