Knit and thicken
- Go ahead and open file 0108, Knit and Thicken Start. Now that we have our tubes connected all we need to do is convert our surfaces to a solid model of geometry. To solidify our geometry, we will use the Knit Surface command. However, before we do, because we want to solidify our tubes, we cannot have these open ends on the tubes. So we need to first close them. For that purpose, the Planar Surface command will work well. Go ahead and activate the Planar Surface command, and now select the edges on each of the openings. We can close all these within the same feature. Okay to complete the command, and with that done, we can now use the Surface Knit command to knit and merge all the surfaces together. Activate the command and with the surfaces and faces selection box selected, left click in the graphics area, and do a control A to select all faces. If our surfaces and patches have been well created, the option to try to form solid should be available for selection. Select it along…
