- [Narrator] One of the quickest ways to populate information on our SOLIDWORKS Drawings, is by linking custom properties. Let's walk through an example of linking the custom material of this SOLIDWORKS part file to a no area on this title block. So the first thing I got to do is make sure that I have the custom property available to choose from. So I'm going to open this part up and make sure that I do have a material selected, I'm then going to go up to the top and click on the file properties button. And here from the drop down, I'm going to select material and for the value text expression I'm going to from the dropdown again, select the material. This creates the material custom property that is filled with the SOLIDWORKS material from this item and gives you out that result, which is plain carbon steel.
