Making lofted cuts - SOLIDWORKS Tutorial
From the course: SOLIDWORKS 2017 Essential Training
Making lofted cuts
- Lofted cuts work in almost exactly the same way as a regular loft feature does. I can have multiple profiles on multiple planes, I can have guide curves, I have can start and end conditions, I can have any of the same things I have in a regular loft. I'm going to show you a basic example here. You can see I've got just a rectangular block here, and I've created a sketch on the front plane here and well as one on the back surface, so I've got Sketch2 and I've got Sketch3. And I want to create a lofted feature cut directly through this to create some type of a funnel. Go up here to Lofted Cut, my profiles, I'm going to choose the Sketch2 and Sketch3. Soon as I click on OK, it just makes that conical cut right down through the center of that shape. If you want to go back and refine that a little further, go on to Lofted Cut, click on Edit Feature, I can change the starting and end constraints to maybe give it a little bit more of a scoop. So Normal to Profile, for instance. And adjust…
