Masking decals

The background of an image can be removed by adding a masking image over the top or choosing a color to remove from the image. The color selection method works fine if you have a uniform background like white or black, however this doesn't work well with other color variations. To use a masking image we need to have one and generally that's the first problem. Anyways, let's go over a few of the options. First lets open this inlay, open the part and I want to place a decal right on that top surface. So I'm going to go ahead and choose the surface, go up to PhotoView 360> Edit Decal and go ahead and choose a logo from Desktop>Exercise Files>Chapter 5>Logos and lets choose that red logo which is a JPEG image. Because it's a JPEG, there's no alpha channel. So I have a white background here. I want to get rid of that. So first choice is to come down here to selective color mask. And if I come up to the image itself I can choose this little eye dropper. I can come up here and I can eye drop…
