Mating gears to the mounting plate
- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to mate our gears to the mounting plate. As you can see, the mounting plate is fully defined, while the gears are free to move around in space. We're going to mate each gear to the mountain point using coincident and concentric mates, making sure that you don't lock the rotation of the concentric mate. We want to make sure the gears can rotate freely about their central axis. First, we're going to create a concentric mate between gears one and the leftmost hole on our mounting plate. So we'll highlight the bore diameter for gear one and the leftmost hole on gear two. And again, we're making sure that this lock rotation box is not checked. So we'll hit OK. And we want to use a coincident mate to mate the back face of the gear to the mounting plate front face. Okay. And we're just going to repeat this for gears two and three respectively, mating gear two on this top right…
