Meshing the half model
- [Instructor] This video shows you how to create the mesh for the half model. We will only have half the number of elements compared to the full con rod model, so we can afford to have a finer global mesh size. Let's go to the model feature tree. Right mouse click next to mesh, and select create mesh. Open up the mesh parameters, and now we can change the global size down to .2 inches. Make sure standard mesh is selected and check to run. Look at the little end. We can improve the number of elements through depth here, so let's add a local mesh control to do that. Right mouse click on mesh. Select apply mesh control. Pick the surfaces which are on the outside edge of the little end. Reset the element size to .1, and check okay. Right mouse click. Click on create mesh, and then click to run. And that's improved the elements there through depth. We're up to increase number of elements along the line here. Again, we have the mesh control symbols being shown here. They can obscure the…
