- [Instructor] You have gotten a really good overview of the SOLIDWORKS Design Library and how to use it. Let's look at what we've learned and what are some of the next steps you can take moving forward. Custom design libraries allow users to save features, blocks, forming tools, and annotations so they can easily be inserted into parts. You want to make sure that you follow the basic steps to save a feature or annotation, or whatever it is you want to reuse. First, you want to create the element you wish to save, or locate the element in an existing part. And then you want to ask yourself if it needs locating dimensions. If it does, you want to add it. If it doesn't, you want to test the element. Then you don't and then after you create it, always make sure you test it to make sure it works the way you expect. Going forward, go through your current designs. Look for common elements which can be used across designs. Review your drawings, save general notes, symbols, and other…
