- [David] Now that we've looked at all these different ways that file references come into play with SOLIDWORKS, I hope you have a new appreciation for how the connectivity of SOLIDWORKS really operates. These file paths, folder structures and file references are very important and you can see how just by moving one or two files around or not creating the right references or altering them, you can kind of collapse or blow up a SOLIDWORKS assembly pretty easily. Moving forward, I suggest using all of these tools in your future SOLIDWORKS assemblies to try to maintain them better but now you have the tools to troubleshoot them and find those references if you do have issues.
