Offset or copy surface

- [Instructor] The offset/copy surface feature is very useful when working with meshes and many other geometry inside of SolidWorks. In this example, I'm just going to offset this surface out here, out in this direction. So I'm going to go to the surface tab, which is here in the command ribbon. If you don't see it, right-click on your command ribbon and make sure that surfaces is checked on. If it's not on, it'll look like this, you can just right-click anywhere in the command ribbon and turn surfaces back on. Let's go over to offset surface, so I'm going to click on that. Very simply, it asks you for the surface to offset, so I can select one, we get a preview right here that you can see. And we'll bring that out a little ways. And we can switch this in either direction, but I'm going to do it outside and accept. Now the one part about this feature that isn't obvious is that for copying a surface, you use the same feature.
