- For this week's tip, I want to talk about the Scan to 3d add-in for SolidWorks, and specifically, we're going to be looking at the Mesh Preparation Wizard. Alright, so the first thing I need to do is I need to open up a file, but before I actually add in the Scan to 3D, I want to show you the difference. So right over here, I've got this file, which is T114, and let's go ahead and just open this up normally. And we've already looked at this in a few other earlier tips. We're going to be bringing this in as the graphics body. Click OK, and click on open. Alright, this is going to ask us for a template, let's just go ahead and choose any one we want. Go ahead and let SolidWorks turn through here and parse the file, so that we get to this opening up in SolidWorks. Now the Scan to 3D add-in is an added, so we have to make sure we have it added in to be able to use it. And by default, it doesn't normally work right out…
