Parting Line Analysis

- [Instructor] The Parting Line Analysis tool is a quick and dirty way to visualize where your parting lines might lie when you start getting into molding. It's a pretty easy tool to use, go ahead and just click on Parting Line Analysis, and then choose your direction of pull or multiple directions of pull to see what's going to happen. Let's go ahead and choose something like the top plane right here and we'll just zoom in here. It's kind of hard to see sometimes, but what it does is it puts a very small, little purple line here showing where those faces might be split. Same thing over here, you can see it kind of following around this direction over here. As you spin that around, you can see here at the bottom, it's giving you a tooling split or parting line right down here. Obviously, you have to connect these together over here. But that's giving you your first look at where your parting lines might be. You can leave this on while you're working in the design, and you can then…
