- [Instructor] The planar surface is one of the most straightforward and easiest surfaces to create inside of SolidWorks and if you're not familiar with it already let me show you how to do that. First thing you want to do is choose a couple of individual lines. And right over here I can choose a planar surface. And right over here if I choose the bottom I can choose this edge right here. And maybe this edge over here. And notice it just connects the two lines together. So it kind of just stretches, almost like a piece of fabric between the two lines. Now if you want to include the edges, if I clip this one over here it says ah, I can't do that, I don't know what to do. But if you choose the other one, and now this says oh well, now you have this nice enclosed boundary. So if you give it an enclosed boundary it's just going to fill that space in with a surface.
