- For this example, let's say that we have a part that we've modeled, and now we've modeled the new part using the same geometry, but we just saved it as a copy and continued on. We already have a drawing for our first part, and we'd like to replicate that drawing for the second part. How do we do that without wasting geometry already created and leveraging file references? Let's walk through that. So first I'm gonna open up this first example. So this is just a block that I made with a hole in it. Very simple. We open up the part, we can see here, there's really not much to it. It's just a boss with a simple sketch and a couple dimensions. Alright, so let's remember that this is 20 inches by 10 inches by two inches. We're gonna leave this. Now I'm gonna open another part that I have. Now this part was made by just saving a copy of the first part and changing some of the dimensions. As you can see here, we now have it four inches thick, 15 inches tall, and 20 inches wide.
