- [Instructor] While this isn't quite the same as creating sketch entities, sometimes when you've created an exploded view in an assembly, you want to physically show how two things go together. So I want to show how this rod goes into this hole right here. If I search under the commands for explode, I find here explode line sketch. I'm going to go ahead and search for that, and if I click on explode line sketch, what it's going to do is give me the option to create a route line. So, I'm going to click on that. I'm going to click on this cylinder and this hole, because that's where it's going, and you can see here that it creates a route line. I'm going to reverse that line, and try to swing an alternate path. So I think what I've got to do is reselect this face down here. Yep. Yep, I got to reverse that face here, so it's closer, oh good enough. We're going to go ahead and click okay, and now you can see the route line created inside of there. Now it's really specific on how you pick things. So, if I picked, for example, this face and this face over here, it's just going to create a route between them to be inserted. It won't necessarily make sense, but it'll add it in there. So you got to kind of be specific in what order you're select things, and how you select things. You can't just select one thing and then the other and hope it's going to give you the route that you want. You can actually create several different route lines like that, and create a bunch of clutter. But once you're done with that, you can always go back to the 3D Explode, and suppress it or just delete it, if you want to. Going to accept the sketch first and rebuild, hitting control q and then I can go here and edit that sketch if I want to. So if I want to drag those lines around, maybe they're not quite right. Maybe I want to delete 'em because I got too many in this case. I can go ahead and do that. So pretty cool visual reference, and a very handy tool.
